Description

The Core Dual Comfort Trisectional is a one-stop-shop hot cold therapy pack ideal for sports injury recovery and pain relief from other injuries and maladies. The three segments of the Trisectional pack are designed to conform to the many joints of the body prone to injury including the ankles, knees, shoulders, and neck. Misuse or overuse of these areas can lead to inflammation of the connective tissue, which then leads to pain. The Dual Comfort Trisectional Pack will address this pain through a series of different treatments. The non-toxic gel is biodegradeable.

As a cold therapy pack, the Trisectional is best used immediately following an injury. The pack can be stored in the freezer and will stay soft and pliable upon removal. The pack features two surfaces?a plush surface that provides slow-release treatment and the second surface which provides more rapid release. Neither surface will build up frost in the freezer. The cold therapy process will decrease the diameter of the blood vessels, thus reducing the flow of blood and reducing swelling.

As a hot therapy pack, the Trisectional can help to reduce inflammation of an acute injury or chronic pain. Heat the pack in a microwave on high heat for thirty seconds, then heat for ten-second intervals until the pack has reached the desired temperature. Be sure to knead the pack after each heating to ensure even distribution of heat. The heat of the pack will increase the diameter of blood vessels, thus increasing blood flow. Increased blood flow will increase the transfer of oxygen into the cells of the inflamed area and will flush out toxins more efficiently.

Heating Instructions

Based on initial pack temperature below 75F (24C).

Knead after each heating. Microwave ovens vary; use care when heating and removing pack from microwave. Overheating pack may cause pack to rupture and/or leak. Carefully check the pack with the palm of your hand before applying. Discard pack if punctured or broken.

Heat 30 seconds on high heat, knead, and then continue heating at 10 second intervals until desired temperature is reached. Knead after each heating.

Cold therapy works by constricting blood vessels, resulting in a decrease in blood flow to the area of application. This helps to decrease swelling and promote healing. Heat therapy increases blood flow to the area to help relax muscles and decrease pain. Put them together and you've got a lot of natural healing at your disposal for relieving sprains, strains, tendinitis and other injuries, as well as stiffness and poor circulation. This pain management system is even more dynamic.

I do wish the pack was wider to round over the rotator cuff/shoulder joint. The center part which rises up against the neck never has enough gel for relief, despite my squeezing the pack to push up more gel. The heaviness of the pack hurts my shoulders more than it helps, and it doesn't stay comfortably in place for me, as it does for others. Comments: My son is a 15 year old pitcher and resists most gels, ice packs, wraps, etc. Other wraps have been hard to keep in place, or we would simiply try two or three separate ice packs with ace wraps. He would go in his room and take them off because they were too uncomfortable. This product is very easy to use, stays cold, stays in place, treats the shoulder, upper arm and elbow. It is also very comfortable for him to use, not cumbersome at all. I only wish we had found it sooner. BOTTOM LINE: Great product!

I have suffered several shoulder injuries in my younger years and a couple since I have reached my fifties. This product really helps. I also have a bad problem with triceps tendonitis in both arms and the arm extentions helps tremendously. I will have to order another one for the other shoulder and arm so I can treat both at the same time. Every orthopedic that performs rotator cuff surgery should prescribe one of these for home use. It's heavy enough to sit on my shoulders without falling off. This is great because I can't figure out how to attach the velcro strap without pulling it across my throat which is very uncomfortable.
