Heat and Ice Therapy Shoulder Wrap by ActiveWrap

I had tried it on and attempted to adjust before surgery. But have waited 7 weeks to even try it on post-surgery, since I was sure it would be too painful. A few adjustments to the design would make this a much better product. Also they should be hung outside for a VERY long time to get rid of chemical smell. I wish I had done it the 7 weeks I was recovering, since it is still strong.

My daughter uses this product after pitching fastpitch softball games. Product is well made and high quality. Straps allow easy adjustment and hold ice packs securely in place. With the unit on she can still walk around, eat, do homework, etc. without it falling off. Ice packs are very high quality and better than any of the gel packs I have bought at the drug or sports store. I would recommend this product.

Easy to use while taking a walk or working around the house. It doesn't fit as well as I hoped, I have small arms and shoulders and it doesn't hit all the right spots.

I have impingement syndrome, and bicipital tendinitis. I ice my shoulder between clients and it really helps. This product was an investment in my career and it delivers the pain relief it boasts. My only complaint is that the strap across my body is not designed for someone with breasts. The wrap touches my throat and is bothersome, but I will wear it anyways.

The product does a good job of holding the icing where it's needed and let's you get on with other things. It was much easier to get on if someone is helping. It's difficult to get the frozen "bag" into the pocket. The frozen "bag" doesn't stay cold long enough.

I have frozen shoulder. Heat or ice application is very useful and this product helps keep the treatment in place but it does not cover the top of the shoulder. As a woman, the strap is uncomfortable. I like the "sleeve" design and the product is well made...top quality. The product description is accurate and I would give it 5 stars but the strap is an issue for me.

I have thin arms. The product bulges out away from the front of shoulder where the product bends. I found that stuffing a pair of socks between the neoprene and ice pack closes that gap. The ice pack takes a bit longer to re-freeze than I would like to see, and only keeps its very cold temperature for about 15 minutes.

I recently had rotator cuff surgery and needed to ice down the shoulder to minimize the swelling and to ease the pain. I initially used ice cubes in a bag and a flat freezable ice pack. Neither one was able to wrap around the shoulder so was not effective. I looked for a better answer and found the Active Wrap online. I ordered the Active Wrap for the shoulder and when I tried it I was pleased how effective it is. I needed assistance to put it on the first time but once it was in place the coldness provided the needed pain relief. I am able to put it on by myself now that it is adjusted to fit. The coldness lasts for 45-60 minutes the way I use it. I can only say that I wish I had one available the first day after the surgery. I anticipate having to use it on a regular basis once I start my rehabilitation exercises. I would strongly recommend using this product for anyone who will be having or has had shoulder surgery or has shoulder pain where icing it would provide relief. I purchased an extra ice pack to keep one set in the freezer at all times and the second set for heat or additional cooling if necessary. It comes with a storage bag for the wrap and another one for ice packs and this makes it easier to store.

Just got my shoulder icewrap and love it! I used to be a swimmer the butterfly was my stroke. Now I have shoulder instability problems and tend to have a lot of inflamation after practice for softball. This icewrap has helped me so much because it covers the front and back of my shoulder and helps reduce the inflamation and pain. It is very comfortable too. I can also bring it to my game and put it on when I'm done playing. My mom carries the icepacks in a cooler.

I have rotator cuff tendonitis in the left shoulder. This wrap does a great job at cooling the entire joint, is easy to secure and stays put. The ice packs stay cold for alot longer than the 15 minutes they recommend it being worn. Have not yet tried to heat the packs but I would bet they'll be just a good hot as they are cold. Would recommend to anyone with shoulder pain.

This is very easy to set up and put on compared to another shoulder wrap I tried. Holds the cold against the entire shoulder very well. Is very cold, good for use over a t-shirt. Seems to be very good quality.

I use this product daily to warm up my shoulder for my post-op and strengthening exercises, then again after to ice the shoulder. The benefit of ordering extra pouches is that you can switch from one use to the other without waiting. My only negative comment is that the pouches lie to the front and back of the shoulder I need one that lies on top of the shoulder and runs down the outside of my arm, as I had surgery to the rotator cuff, the labrum and also had bicep tendoneses, so I need the relief front, top and back. The bare material of the "sling" sits on top of a surgical site and actually hurts if I don't stuff with a small ice pack or a cloth of some sort. This, however, is a minor complaint considering the enormous relief I've experienced from using the Active Wrap. The fact that I can walk around, cook, fold laundry etc, without having ice or heat packs cascading all over the place is fantastic. You take care of yourself and you don't have to sit on a couch for 20 minutes.

Although this wrap is slightly difficult to put on, the ability to ice my shoulder while sitting, walking around and being mobile more than makes up for it. It retains heat well, fits comfortably, and most importantly does the job. I would definitely purchase it again.

[...]I developed shoulder tendonitis in the bicep tendon where it meets the shoulder. The 2 lower Velcro straps on the shoulder wrap allow me to snug the wrap over my bicep. The top strap allows me to snug the wrap over the shoulder rotator joint. I can obtain a good snug fit and effective cold therapy of the muscle and tendons after a workout. The outer covering of the wrap is a foam material, which is a good insulator, and the inner fabric is thin nylon. This helps in directing the cooling effect into the muscle. The cold packs are still usable after a 20 minute application. I highly recommend this product.

I liked the product enough to buy another one for bilateral shoulder icing. They can be used together, in case you're wondering. The product is excellent and holds the cold quite well. A slight design flaw keeps me from giving it a 5 star rating: the pouches that hold the two ice packs could use a Velcro closure strap that prevents the packs from falling out when you carry the sling. It would be really cheap and simple to do. Also, the fit around the socket area of the shoulder could be a bit snugger -- still, these exceeded my expectations and provide some relief from my bilateral arthritis and RC pain. I would recommend going for the extra ice packs, so that you can use the harness for extended periods.

I have a fractured shoulder and was instructed by the physical therapist to ice it three times a day. The shoulder pack makes it very easy. It covers the whole shoulder and stays very cold. Love the product.

Definitely ices the entire shoulder well. Easy to strap on. Smaller size has plenty of extra room, as per the description so women, it is ok to order the children's/women's size. Some disappointment in the quality of the ice packs.

I love that the shoulder wrap is so easy to use. I had rotator cuff surgery four weeks ago and have been using the ActiveWrap since I bought it a few weeks ago. I have it on now as I sit at the computer. I wear it for a half hour after I do the exercises to keep my shoulder mobile. I've only used it for ice therapy so far.

I climb cranes every day like spiderman. Had rotator cuff surgery (3 muscle anchors and 2 ripped tendons). Serious pain , not climbing now. Am 5 months post op. and working limited duty. WITHOUT this item I could not take the pain. This has been a life saver, it fits and is comfy. Very well designed. Was worried about size but this will fit a large man. 6'4"-240 lbs. and some room to spare. Buy it, you will not be sorry!!!!

The shoulder ice wrap works great, wish i had it for my fisrt shoulder joint replacement surgery. Easy to use with only one good arm and it gets all of the shoulder iced. Well constructed and will last for a long time.

I bought this for my son who is a high school quarterback. After throwing all game his shoulder needs a little extra attention. It is great in that he doesn't have to hold an ice pack on. I had rotator cuff surgery in Nov 2007 and would use frozen bags of vegetables for releif but they would fall off - I couldn't get them to ice my whole shoulder. With the shoulder wrap I can wear it longer and can move around with it hooked on my shoulder. I need to schedule surgery again (and dread it) and I am so thank ful to have found the shoulder wrap for the pain now and for releif after therapy. I think it should be prescribed for rotator cuff injuries and for the therapy after surgery.

I bought this item thinking it would be disappointing like so many things purchased without seing in person. But this actually worked perfectly, exactly as described. I was particualrly worried that it wouldn't fit because I am pretty big (think football lineman) but it fits great and delivers the cold treatment exactly where it's needed. I bought this for my husband when he had rotator cuff surgey and he love it. i bought a set of replacement pack so we can do both hot and cold it works great

Heat inserts are a little too large for the insert pocket and can burn your skin. The are somewhat difficult to bring to a suitable temp in the microwave and they do not hold the heat for very long.
